Getting Ready for Season 11...

I picked up the SPN season 10 dvds at Target on my way to work this morning and watched the first 3 episodes tonight :D

When the first one ended I literally sat up in my chair and grabbed the remote and wondered how the heck did I manage a whole week last year after that ending...

The first 3 really are a trilogy and are much less choppy between storylines when watched as one unit.

And the one Jensen directed is still very impressive when you see just how much he is in it!!!

I just ordered my set from the States, but with one month to go I think a season re-watch is in order!

I always do a rewatch before the new season simply because after 4 months I've forgotten details!

I forget one week to the next these days - I used to re-watch every episode multiple times but with all the other stuff going on (fanfic to write, read and art for) somehow since Season 8 that just doesn't happen anymore.

I also loved the first three episodes. It was a great mini-arc, and a great way to start off the show for the season. I do love watching those three together. And yes, it is hard to imagine how we lasted with a week in between each episode. Watching this season again will definitely get my excited revved up for S11. Hard to imagine still feeling this way after 10 years, but I do.

Those first three episodes do feel very different watching them back-to-back than how we originally view them. In fact, the whole season has a different feel to it, and you look at it a little differently when viewed within a short time period. I appreciate the seasons a lot more, and S10 is no exception, when viewed as a whole rather than individual episodes. You realize a lot more about the season themes and arcs as a whole, and some things that didn't make sense do make sense.
