Beam me up, Scotty!--Random Meme
Aug. 27th, 2010 10:20 amHere's how it works:
Leave me a comment by saying "Beam Me Up, Scotty!" I'll respond by asking you five completely random questions. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions. Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions. If you'd like to play, lemme know. No worries either way
These are the questions
gaelicspirit asked me:
1. If you were traveling around the world, which two people (any two people) would you want as your companions?
Wow, that is a tough question! If you would let me take three people I would want to take my three daughters because they are all good travelling companions and we would have such fun together, and I would have as much fun watching them as having the experience! But if you only let me take two people...I don't know, I'd feel kind of guilty just taking my eldest and her husband, but I guess them, or else the two younger girls together...
2. What one word might people use to describe your sense of humor?
Snarky, probably. Although I am a frequent user of irony, bad puns, and black humor as well.
3. If you were scuba diving, what underwater creature would scare you the most?
Um, first of all, you would never find me scuba diving because I dislike going in water. However, I would probably be freaked out by all the tentacles on an octopus.
4. What is the saddest movie you have ever seen?
I try to avoid sad movies. I have a VERY low crying threshhold (I cry over 80% of the SPN fanfics, not to mention the episodes, or for that matter hearing music that makes me even think of how broken the boys were in season 5) so I generally go for action flicks and comedies. I can't think of a sad movie I've seen right now. Sorry for the cop-out on this, if something comes to me later I'll add it.
5. Which song that they've played on Supernatural (either during an episode, or part of a "THEN") would you choose to have as the ringtone for your phone?
For a phone ringtone I think I'd have to go with AC/DC's Thunderstruck. I'd never heard it (lame, I realize) until the episode "The Song Remains the Same" and it got stuck in my brain.

Date: 2010-08-27 06:35 pm (UTC)I'm with you -- I will not be scuba diving. I much rather look at water than be in it.
And I think we have similar crying thresholds. I just recently had to swab my face at the end of Nanny McPhee Returns. What?? I was really touching!
*gapes* That was the first time you'd heard Thunderstruck?! I just...don't even...wow. Well, thank goodness you've heard it now! :) LOL!
Thank you for playing!

Date: 2010-08-27 07:30 pm (UTC)And the other thing I have become really fluent in since falling into fanfic is swearing. Which I probably shouldn't be proud of. But it feels perversely empowering to murmur an occasional f-bomb now.
There are days when I feel like a fifty-year-old teenager...much to my kids' chagrin.

I swear, I was never a TV/film crier before SPN. (Okay, I cried when Spock died. That was it.) But the S5 finale? I was *still crying the next day*. And I had to go visit the fam, who were like 'what's wrong with you?' and I was all sniff sniff. NVM. It was awesome.
