Life is What Happens While You're Making Plans...

Okay, so we are going to have to move from the place we've lived for 17 years because the property has to be sold to settle my mom's estate. We signed a lease this week and will move piecemeal throughout October. It's only 10 blocks away, and is nice and clean. Silver lining? Well, I guess we'll be weeding out lots of stuff to fit 7 rooms into 5...I do wish it had one more room, but we get an extra half-bath, which everyone is very thrilled about. (5 people/one bathroom/15 years.) I feel a little sorry that Sarah will now have no space of her own to crash when she visits...And even though she took lots of stuff when she moved to her own place, there is still a lot of her stuff left to be sorted through...

But the most bizarre thing that happened this week is that I think I accidentally sold this place! I mean, that was the intention all along, but when our next-door neighbor came over with some garden tomatoes I mentioned our intention to sell, and he said immediately he'd make an offer for the full price as soon as he had time to pick up the paperwork. I instantly said that I had a blank contract upstairs, gave it to him, and he called last night asking what date did we want the closing! Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled, but just a little blown away that it looks like it will be so easy.

Adrienne has been packing obsessively, and both girls are having fun thinking about how they're going to fix up their new bedrooms. Gee, maybe I'll take pictures and send them to people like I did for Sarah's apartment.
