My Daughter is Very Lucky...
Jul. 26th, 2006 08:36 pm...because her parents have spent the last 4 nights rolling wedding invitations. Not stuffing envelopes, mind you, no, we have been rolling little scrolls, taping them, tying gold cord around them, stuffing them into little plastic bottles, and hammering corks to seal the bottles. Oh, almost forgot putting handfuls of little seashells into each bottle first.
We managed to stuff 18 bottles in 2 hours the first night. We have improved to 15 bottles in 30 minutes on this, the 4th night of doing this after supper. 60 bottles down--only 135 to go.
Oh, and why are WE doing this instead of her? The fact that she has been on the road for all but 8 of the last 60 days is a factor, of course, but I think the bottom line is, isn't that what parents are for?

My parenting career seems to have been full of them. Which actually makes life much more interesting in the long run, even if I don't completely appreciate them in the moment!
