And Now for Something Completely Different

First, thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes! It's a little mind-boggling when I think that 95% of my LJ friends became my friends because of a mutual love of Supernatural! :)

My present to myself was to spend 20 of the last 36 hours of my birthday weekend just reading :D

I have never seen an episode of Glee. However, my dear friend sandymg is a Glee fan, and a while ago she encouraged me to try something different and read a Glee!fic.

And am I ever glad she did.

I spent the last 2 days immersed in the world of rainjoyswriting's Superhero 'verse. Knowing nothing about what I was supposed to bring to the interpretation of her stories, I found myself simply inhabiting a riveting world of charismatic characters, meta world-building, and a story that had me knotted up with anxiety--and it's been a long time since I found myself actually scared for characters in a book!

So I am going to rec this for anyone who would like to lose themselves in a superhero world that has superhumanly human protagonists, a wrenching and wonderful romance, truly scary villains, plot twists you won't see coming, multiple layers of story-telling, and a theme that will make you think for a long time afterwards, I recommend All the Other Ghosts and Grey.
